Wi-Fi Service is Free!
All 3 locations of Naperville Public Library offer free wireless Internet services to the
library network. Visitors can use their personal computer or handheld device to connect
to Internet while they are visiting our library. No special encryption
settings, user
names or passwords are required.
Requirements to access the Naperville Public Library's wireless network:
- You will need a laptop equipped with an 802.11a, 802.11b or 802.11g compatible wireless network card.
- SSID (network name) = NapervillePublicLibrary
- Set your TCP/IP configuration to DHCP enabled. Most network cards will automatically find the wireless
access point and connect you to it as long as your card is set to obtain the IP address automatically and to
obtain the DNS server address automatically.
- Printers are not available via the wireless connection. If you need to print, please use one of our workstations
in the Computer Lab.
*Note: Most WiFi equipment will be compatible and in many cases connect automatically. However, the Library
makes no guarantees as to the compatibility of your equipment with the Library's network. If you need assistance,
please see the staff at the Computer Lab desk.
