Summary: Another fun cat & horse mystery, this time set in Kentucky. The animals all talk to each other in italics, not quotes, so the humans can’t understand.


Title: Sweet and Low, a Family Story
Author: Cohen, Rich
Summary: A very funny and insightful story of a self-destructive and self-absorbed family. The author has a great writing style and a witty sense of humor.


Title: Kissed a Sad Goodbye
Author: Crombie, Deborah
Summary: I really enjoyed this British mystery. It kept me guessing who the real killer was until the very end. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I will continue to seek out her other books. Great read!


Title: The Worst Hard Time: the Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl
Author: Egan, Timothy
Summary: This book tells the stories of the dust bowl and depression that are not in our history books. The book was very well written and extremely interesting.


Title: Crossing Hoffa: a Teamster’s Story
Author: Harper, Steven
Summary: A son tells the story of his father’s attempt to clean up corruption in unions during the 1950’s and 60’s.


Title: Lucky You
Author: Hiaasen, Carl
Summary: The story is very entertaining with lots of interesting characters who are brought to life with colorful words.


Title: Bright Lights, Big Ass
Author: Lancaster, Jen
Summary: So funny! Just like dishing with a girlfriend. You’ll find yourself laughing out loud!


Title: Never Believe the Odds, From Paralysis to Walking: a True Story of Willpower and Perserverance
Author: Maenhout, Frank
Summary: The true life story of a Naperville woman’s inspiring successful journey to beat one in a million odds, to overcome paralysis as told from the perspective of her loving husband.


Title: On Communicating
Author: McCormack, Mark
Summary: A very good book which covers everyday business communication. A must read for anyone in the working world. The audio version is even better and was read by the author.


Title: Astrid and Veronika
Author: Olsson, Linda
Summary: A moving story which tells of the results and consequences of life choices by the two main characters. Highly recommend.
