Ahoy Mates!

It's time for some pirate fun! Let's walk the plank and take a plunge into the pirate world. There are lots of fun piratical activities we can do. Let's start off by learning some pirate lingo. Speaking like a pirate can be fun. Arrr!  To speak like a true pirate takes some practice. Pirates like to scowl and growl and mutter.

Once you've mustered the lingo, you can read a few pirate books.  Some favorites are: How I Became a Pirate, Pirates of the Sea!, and Everything I Know about Pirates.

OK, Mateys, you've mustered the lingo now. How about making a pirate hat?

Want to throw a Pirate party? Here are some awesome ideas for you.

If you like playing games, here are some fun games you can play with your mates.

 Let Sleeping Pirates Lie

One "pirate" sits at the front of the room, eyes closed. One by one, his fellow sailors must creep slowly towards him. If the pirate turns around and catches them moving, they must walk the plank. The winner is the first person to reach and touch the pirate without being caught.

 Hook the Treasure

Here's a real fun pirate game... Use a nice bright plastic cup and cut a slit in the bottom of the cup. Make a hook in the shape of a ? and push it into the slit, and put your hand into the cup. Empty a bag of pretzels into a large bowl. Now let's see how many pretzels you can 'hook' in 60 seconds. For more pirate games.

Be ye be having fun me Mateys. Arrrgh!
