For many children, the month of September means School!
School means getting up early, washing, dressing and eating a healthy breakfast.
Try one of these enticing breakfasts to get your child up and moving. It may work on you, too!
Yogurt and Granola Parfait
*1/4 cup granola, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1 tablesppon maple syrup.
Layer the granola in the bottom of a parfait glass. Spoon the yogurt on top. Drizzle with syrup.
This looks like a dessert, but it is loaded with calcium!
*2 bagels, split in half; 1/2 cup cream chese; 1 small cucumber; 1/2 plum tomato.
Toast the bagels and spread with cream cheese. Slice the cucumber into rounds and pieces to form "eyeglasses." Cut the tomato into wedges and use on bagel half as a smile!
You can also give your children an assortment of veggies to form faces, and encourage them to play with their food before they eat it.
