Taking Care of Business

For readers interested in business and personal finance, it’s a happy event when new books on these topics become available.  When popular items hit the shelves, they can become scarce quickly. That’s just what happened recently when the following four titles appeared on the Naperville Public Library’s “Most Popular” Adult Non-Fiction list:

  • Lean in : women, work, and the will to lead /Sheryl Sandberg; with Nell Scovell
  • How to retire the cheapskate way : the ultimate cheapskate's guide to a better, earlier, happier retirement / Jeff Yeager
  • Think, act, and invest like Warren Buffett : the winning strategy to help you achieve your financial and life goals / Larry E. Swedroe
  • Do more, spend less : the new secrets of living the good life for less / Brad Wilson

The Sandberg book has certainly been controversial and has received lots of attention recently, but it’s nice to see some personal finance and investment books which relate so well to the library's Healthy, Wealthy & Wise initiative.

Of course, the downside of the “Most Popular” designation is that these books tend to have more than a few people reserving a copy.  So while we encourage reserving a title for future reading, you might also want to consider some related books which are likely to be available sooner.  Here are some suggestions:
