In a previous post we talked about the importance of play to help develop language and words, essential elements of our Every Child Ready to Read initiative, and one of the five steps to raising a reader.

So let's play some more! The Nichols Children's Department has added several new "Play & Learn" activities to our Early Literacy Center.

Five of our new activites support our Healthy, Wealthy & Wise initiative. Your child can play and learn language and new words while exploring a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and exercise and also explore beginning money sense; all things that can lead you down the path to being Healthy, Wealthy & Wise.

These activities are for use on an individual basis within our Nichols Children's Department.

All you need to do is come to our Reference Desk and we'll show you how you can play with them.

When you are done playing we ask that you return the activity to our Reference Desk.

It's so easy and so much fun!! Come play and learn with us today at the Nichols Library in downtown Naperville.
