In Hanukkah Bear by Eric A. Kimmel, 97-year-old Bubba Brayna, who unsurprisingly doesn't see or hear very well, welcomes Old Bear into her home thinking it is the rabbi. Together they light the menorah, play with the dreidel and feast on latkes. Includes a recipe for latkes.

Santa Claus and the Three Bears book jacketSanta Claus and the Three Bears by Maria Modugno retells the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears with Santa paying a Christmas Eve call on the Three Bears' house while they are out on a walk waiting for their pudding to cool.

Trisha and Richie are back in Patricia Polacco's Gifts of the Heart.  In this story, Kay Lamity, a larger-than-life font of homespun wisdom, has arrived to take care of them since their Gramma has passed away. Through Kay, they learn about the gifts that count: those that come from the heart rather than a shop window.

In The Smallest Gift of Christmas by Peter H. Reynolds, Roland, who rejects his gift as being too small, discovers that it is all a matter of perspective when on a trip to outer space to look for a large-enough gift he sees that Earth, his home, is just a speck. Roland learns that his family and home are his true gifts.

Fuddles the pampered cat returns in A Very Fuddles Christmas by Fran Vischer. Fuddles mistakenly thinks the Christmas meal and presents are all for him. When he flees the mayhem he has caused, Fuddles finds himself in the great white outdoors of the backyard until he re-enters the house in a very unusual manner.
