I was fortunate to have been one of the Naperville Public Library READ2GETHER coordinators during our "Paws to Read" Summer Reading Program. It was a memorable experience for many reasons. Of course, it was thrilling to see our younger readers gain confidence with weekly practice, learn how to choose books on their own, and make friends with each other and their teen mentors.
The Library's Summer Volunteers in grades 6-12, who gave their time, humor, patience and empathy to our young readers are a Naperville treasure. They deserve most of the credit for the continual success of our Read2Gether program. They were a responsible group, who took their "job" seriously. These teens were punctual, dependable, courteous, funny and flexible, and were a true part of our professional Library team.
THANK YOU so much from your Read2Gether coordinators, and from all of the children you read with in June and July of 2014.
