When was the last time you hugged a book after you read it? You might be tempted to snuggle with the following two (and your child!)

The first is in our Reader collection.

Chip Wants a Dog by William Wegman

Chip wants a dog

Chip wants a dog so badly, but his parents will not give in. Luckily, Chip discovers he IS a dog, so he solves his own problem. The photos and the last two pages are priceless.

My second pick is in our Easy Fiction area, meant to be read to a preschooler.

Boa's Bad Birthday by Jeanne Willis.

boa's bad birthday

Boa is a big snake who receives some useless birthday presents from his friends: mittens (no hands!), sunglasses (no ears or nose!), and so on. But his dung beetle friend, surprisingly (and gratifyingly) brings the best present of all. And parents ... there is even a MORAL to this story!

Please come to the Library and discover more of our treasures.  It's Summer!
