Read with a dog! Our Spring session of BARK FOR BOOKS will start March 9, and repeat March 23 at Naper Blvd. Library. No registration is required and the Saturday sessions last an hour, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

It may be fun to read, but is really fun to read with our Therapy dogs. The furry friends eagerly await every new reader who walks in the door. Better yet, they never correct a missed word.BARK FOR BOOKS
These dogs think every story is the best one they have ever heard: long ones, short ones, funny ones, and sad ones. Kids can even show them the pictures and make up a story.

If your child loves to read, this is the program for them. If your child hates to read, this is REALLY the program for them.

Like any learned skill, practice is the key to success. Kids can practice reading out loud to our all-volunteer teams of dogs and owners, who are certified through local organizations.
No need to register. A free ticket for a 10-minute read is available at 11:00 a.m. the morning of the program. Books are provided, and every reader leaves with some surprise gifts.

Upcoming dates at Nichols Library for BARK FOR BOOKS are April 6 and 20; at 95th St. Library May 4 and 18.

Our Summer session kicks off on Friday, June 7 with a BARK FOR BOOKS for Special Needs Children and their families. Our 6 week summer session begins June 15 at 95th St. Library.

We"woof" love to see your child at all of them!
