Does your family love the magic of the winter holiday season? Make that magic last a bit longer this season by joining the Library's Winter Family Readaloud Program, inspired by those unbridled Dr. Seuss characters, Thing 1 and Thing 2 : "READING IS OUR THING!"

Starting Monday, December 2, we invite families with children 5th grade and under (babies, too!) to join the fun, and sign up in the Children's Department. Do your own thing as a family and choose shared activities to earn prizes and coupons for the kids. Families can also earn chances to win hockey tickets from our sponsor The Chicago Wolves, or to win a Seuss-themed grand prize gift bag.

Participation for Naperville cardholders is free, and one card from a family is all that is necessary to join. Patrons of other libraries are invited to join with a $5.00 per child fee.

Reading is our thing

We encourage families to read together, because "READING IS OUR THING!" However, kids and their grownups can also cook together, play games, watch videos, listen to music, and come to the Library for our fabulous programs (like BARK FOR BOOKS, where kids can read to a Therapy Dog!). All these activities count as you cross off the icons in your "Thing Tracker" log.

Families can complete up to 3 logs through January 31, 2014, and earn rewards for each one they return.

See you at the Library! Winter is our favorite season!
