This summer children entering grades 3 - 5 submitted stories to us on the theme of travel. We loved the stories so much we thought we would share them with you - one each week.

Here is Prajwal's story about his family's vacation.  We especially liked that his cruise ship even had a library!

A Trip on a Cruise by Prajwal S.

On a cold winter day my family was getting ready for a trip on a cruise.  So, we drove to the Midway airport.  Then we took a three hour flight to Miami airport.  After that, we took a taxi to our hotel.  As soon as we got to our room, we went swimming in the nice warm weather of Miami.

The next day, we took a taxi to the Port of Miami.  Then, we went into a building and embarked by showing our passports and gave in our bags.  Before we got on the cruise ship, we took a family photo with the cruise ship as the background.  When we got to our room, our bags were already there.  After unpacking, we ate lunch and discovered you could have ice cream whenever you wanted!!!!!

After lunch, we went swimming.  I was four years old, so I could go on the water slide, but my sister couldn't.  After that, we went to have dinner.  We told them there weren't any vegetarian options for us to choose from, so they promised us to make Indian vegetarian food from that day just for us.

After dinner we took a tour of the entire cruise ship.  There were five restaurants, casinos, auditoriums, shopping stores, libraries, children's room, spa, disco, mini golf, video-arcade and a fitness room.  The next day, we played in the children's room all day.  At the children's room, I practiced for a play.

The next day, I played golf, did the play, and had dinner with the captain.

On the last day, we disembarked and went to the port of Cozumel, Mexico.  We took a taxi tour of the coast of Cozumel.

When we reached Miami port, we took a taxi to the airport and a flight to Chicago.

Then we drove back home.  This was the best vacation ever.
