This past summer children entering grades 3 - 5 submitted stories to us on the theme of travel. We loved the stories so much we thought we would share them with you - one each week.
This is Elaina's story of a pig who has a big adventure without ever leaving the barn.
Gina the Travel Pig
by Elaina V. Age 8
One evening, Gina the piglet asked her Mom, “Why can’t we go any where outside of the barn?”
Her mom replied, “I don’t know, but it’s time to take a little nap.”
So the little piglet got ready and took a little rest. She dreamed about getting to go outside the barn.
She got to travel to Wisconsin and got to stay at ta very nice hotel. Gina liked the way they gave her a nice warm bath.
Then she took a bus to Michigan where she got to go to Lake Michigan and play on the sandy beach.
Her next adventure was to Indiana. In Indiana, Gina got to play in the dunes she got to climb up the HUGE mountain. When she got to the top, she got out her shovel and pail to make a sand castle.
Then she took an airplane to Florida and went to Disneyland. She went on lots of roller coaster rides.
Her next trip was to Hawaii, where she got to see all of the different islands.
Then it was time to go, so she went back home.
Then she woke up and told her mom all about her dream about going to Wisconsin, Indiana, Florida, and Hawaii. Her mom said, “It looks like you did get to go outside the barn.”
