Budding filmmakers can make their own movies for fun with friends or for a school project. They can learn how to record and edit as well as add music, sound effects and titles to their movie clips using the Idea Lab's high-definition camcorder and editing software called iMovie. For students in 3rd through 5th grades. Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 12 participants.
Racing with robotics (95th)Wednesday, August 05, 2015 at 1:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
Children can utilize their critical thinking skills to build robots out of LEGOs and program them using WeDo software to move, react and make sounds. Children also will create cars that actually zip through an interactive, robotic finish line. This robotics class will enhance communication, collaborative and problem-solving skills.
3-D Software & Printing For Adults (95th)Thursday, August 06, 2015 at 6:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
Adults can learn how to design a three-dimensional object using the software 123D and find out how to print the object using the library?'s 3-D printer. Program requires advanced registration with a fee.
College application and essay writing seminar (95th)Thursday, August 06, 2015 at 7:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Applying for college can be a daunting task, but help is available at the library. C2 Education will discuss the ins and out of college applications, including tips on writing the essay. Students also will learn how to best show off their academic achievements and activities. The seminar is geared for high school students in 10th through 12th grades and their parents.

Join Michael Ribet, who has been practicing meditation for over 40 years as he discusses how meditation can improve our physical, mental and spiritual health. He will present effective methods for creating a more satisfying lifestyle including harmonious relationships and a deep sense of peace. Participants will learn effective strategies and a simple but profound meditation technique that will help remove stress and worry. The audience will have a chance to practice this simple technique that can reduce stress, enhance relaxation and promote inner growth.?
Book & Cookie club (95th)Monday, August 10, 2015 at 7:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
"The Code Busters Club - The Secret of the Skeleton Key" by Penny Warner
Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club's meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, www.naperville-lib.org. The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout.
