ATTENTION! Students entering 1st through 5th grades, do you want to spend time reading aloud with an older student? This non-tutoring program is intended to provide children with an opportunity to spend time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Come to the library at one of the times listed below. Children will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and will spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, a child may be placed in a group.
Monthly Teen Book Giveaway (NSL)Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Love reading and reviewing books? Teens can stop by the upper level Adult Services desk on the last Wednesday of each month to grab a soon-to-be-released and popular young adult book. Participants can take the book home, add it to their collection and write a review for each book. The library will publish reviewers?' comments on its website.

Tuesday program: 'The Loyal Bond Between a Soldier & His Service Dog' :
Retired U.S. Army Capt. Luis Carlos Montalv??n, who is a New York Times best-selling author, will share his new book, "Tuesday Tucks Me In: The Loyal Bond Between a Soldier and His Service Dog." Montalv??n, who will bring his best friend and service dog, Tuesday, will talk about a typical day of adventures, starting with Tuesday waking him up in the morning and greeting him with dog breath and then ending with Tuesday cuddling up to him on the bed. Montalv??n?'s story is a sweet blend of education and unconditional love. This program is partially funded by a grant from the City of Naperville.

Cassette Conversion (NSL)Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 6:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
Individuals can learn how to convert cassettes to digital format using the library's new conversion equipment and Audacity software.

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities right in your home! At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children to these fun filled programs.
ACT Kaplan Practice Tests (NSL)Saturday, August 02, 2014 at 12:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
A practice test is crucial to ward off those test-day jitters. Kaplan will provide proctored tests to help students practice for the real exam. Participants should bring No. 2 pencils, an approved calculator and a healthy snack. The exams will begin promptly at the scheduled time, and no one will be admitted once the exam has started. The program is for teens in 9th through 12th grades. *Program requires advanced registration. This program is presented in partnership with Kaplan.
Sensory Storytime (NSL)Saturday, August 02, 2014 at 2:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Children with special needs and their families can attend a 30-minute program featuring books, songs and fun activities. All abilities are welcome with an adult caregiver. For more information, go to any Children?'s Service Desk. The program will take place the first Saturday of each month.
