Small Business Workshop: Managing Cash Flow (NIC)

More businesses fail because owners do not effectively manage cash than for any other reason. This workshop covers the three basic financial statements: balance sheet, profit and loss and cash-flow statement to see where cash is tied up, determine how the business generates and uses cash, and explore strategies to speed up the business's cash flow cycle. The workshop can be useful for startup entrepreneurs as well as business owners who want to improve their cash management skills. This is a Small Business Week program.

Microsoft Excel 2013 Level 1 (95th)

Do you have basic computer and MS Word skills but have never used Excel? Come learn about the 2013 user interface; entering and formatting data; adjusting cell size. Practice using auto fill; adding and removing rows and columns. Get printing tips and more!

Please note that we are offering Microsoft Office 2013 hands-on group classes in a series at the same time and location one week apart. Register for any level in a series if you are proficient with the topics in the lower level(s) of that series. You will receive exercises in the lower level classes to use for practice before taking the next level.

There is a non-refundable, non-transferable attendance fee for each class that must be paid at the time of registration. You can transfer to another class with one weeks' advance notice. If you cannot attend a class for any reason, please let the Computer Lab staff know so that we can offer the spot to someone on the waiting list. Unless noted below, the fees are:
Naperville Public Library card holders: $10
Reciprocal Borrowers: $20

This discussion will highlight new features of this long-standing information resource that small businesses can use to their advantage. Including printing labels and creating a mail merge on line, as well as setting up and saving search criteria using email addresses. This is a Small Business Week program.

Have you mastered the Level 1 topics? Then join us as we work with number formats and conditional formatting. Learn to use Auto Sum; basic formulas; cell references. Explore working with multiple worksheets and the sort feature.
