Basic Computing For Seniors

Wednesday, June 01, 2016 at 10:00 AM -- 95th Street Library

Take an introductory class on the basics of computers, including mouse and keyboard operation, desktop navigation and file organization. No experience is necessary. *Program requires advanced registration with a fee and is limited to 12 participants. 

The computer and technology classes have a non-refundable, non-transferable attendance fee for each class that must be paid at the time of registration.  Registrations for these classes are taken at the computer lab desks.

The fee for these classes is:

Naperville Public Library card holders: $10

Non-Naperville Public Library card holders: $20

Participants can transfer to another class with one week's advance notice. If individuals cannot attend a class for any reason, they should inform the computer lab staff so the spot may be available to an individual on the waiting list.

Learn how to create an account, set up a profile, download the Pinterest icon to a browser, create a Pinterest board and start pinning. Small Business: An Insider's View of Management (95th)

Three of the key areas of discussion will be budgeting, human resources management and legal issues. Stitching In The Stacks: Chemo Caps (95th)

Stitch with the library's community knit, crochet and needlecraft group. The summer season's Pay It Forward community project will be knitting or crocheting chemo caps to donate to Edward Cancer Center. Participants should bring their own materials and tools and either make chemo caps or bring their own personal projects to work on in the group. All skill levels may attend. Experienced crafters are welcome to share their expertise and work with staff to help beginners.

Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Westerns (95th)

Spaghetti westerns are also known as macaroni westerns because many of them were made in Italy on a low budget. Clint Eastwood began his career in the genre and in turn became its icon. This summer series of six movies features Eastwood's best films in the genre.

Genealogy: Drop-In Help (NIC)
