Hot shot / Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
A great romantic look at the beginnings of the personal computer and the people who made it happen.... more
-
The chosen / Chaim Potok.
One of my favorite books of all time. The writing is fantastic, and the setting of around the end of WWII makes you weep for those killed in the Holocaust.... more

Bantam of the opera / written and illustrated by Mary Jane Auch.
This is one in her bed and breakfast series and enjoyed it because it's such light summer reading. I feel I know these people and could check in tomorrow... more
-
Dead wrong / J.A. Jance.
A surprisingly complicated murder mystery, with plenty of twists to keep the audience interested.... more
-
Wings / Terry Pratchett.
Different to the disc world novels, still fun but not as to my taste... more
-
Garden spells / Sarah Addison Allen.
Loved it! Great characters, couldn't put it down!... more
-
Blue Mars / Kim Stanley Robinson.
The third book in Robinson's lengthy trilogy about the colonization of Mars. The books form a "future history" covering a time span of several hundred years from the first expeditions to an independent world of several million people. I enjoyed reading the books, but some people might find Robinson's detailed technical explanations a little dry. He goes into quite a bit of detail about how the colonization and terraformng "was" accomplished though he has to invent some pretty amazing (and to my mind, slightly implausible) advances in genetics, physics, computer science, materials sciences, and others) But it makes a great story and you can really identify with the characters and personalities.... more

Getting rid of Matthew / Jane Fallon.
Great read, "chick-lit" with some substance. Set in England which made it all the better. Great funny story about how what you think you want isn't always what you really want!... more
