A generous donation from the Illinois Credit Union Foundation just expanded and completed the Naperville Public Library’s “Biz Kid$” (cq.) DVD collection. The library now owns all five seasons of the award winning series “where kids teach kids about money and business” The series website explains, “Using a clever blend of entertainment and education, each Biz Kid$ episode shows kids how to make and manage money by introducing concepts of financial literacy and entrepreneurship.”
John Spears, Executive Director, Naperville Public Library, enthusiastically received the donation from Vicki Ponzo, Illinois Credit Union Foundation Executive Director, and Melanie Murphy Illinois Credit Union League.
“We’re pleased to now own all five seasons, a complete set of this valuable educational resource,” explains Spears. “The library is serious about providing investment and financial resources for all ages so we’re especially excited that now we have such an important resource for junior high and high school students.” The Biz Kid$ videos are a ““recommended educational resource” by the State Boards of Education of Illinois.
“The library is pleased to have a continuing relationship with the Illinois Credit Union Foundation. This summer they will again partner with us to present a Teen Reality Fair” on June 19 at our 95th Street Library. Learning to manage and make money is an important lifelong skill,” Spears adds.
