SCORE Business Roundtable at NaperLaunch

Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 8:00 AM -- Nichols Library
 This roundtable will focus on technology and manufacturing businesses. A 90 minute discussion on relevant business issues every entrepreneur faces. Get feedback and guidance from experienced fellow entrepreneurs on how to solve every-day business challenges. No business owner should walk alone. Use this group for advice and counsel that will lead to simply elegant solutions.

Exam Cram (95th)

Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 4:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
The library has reserved space for teens to study for finals. Tables for group study, free Wi-Fi access and reference help will be available. For teens who need a break during the cram session, board games and snacks also will be provided. The program is for teens in 9th through 12th grades. Dates may change due to snow or cold weather days.

Stitching in the Stacks (NIC)

Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 7:00 PM -- Nichols Library

This season's pay-it-forward community project is knit, crocheted or fleece-tied mats for shelter dogs and cats. Mats will go to Naperville Area Humane Society and ADOPT Pet Shelter and may accompany pets to their adoptive homes.

Participants should bring their choice of machine washable supplies, and the library will supply patterns. Participants may also bring their own projects to work on with fellow crafters. All skill levels may attend and experienced crafters are welcome to share their expertise and work with staff to help beginners.

Volunteer registration will begin on Saturday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m. and continue until all the slots are filled. Students should register at the library building where they wish to volunteer.

Requirements: Volunteers must be entering 6th through 12th grades
All volunteers must have a current Naperville Public Library card
Volunteer commitment is for a minimum of 6 weeks
A completed and signed SRP agreement form must be presented at registration
Volunteers must attend an orientation session

Genealogy Workshop: Italian Genealogy Research (NIC)

Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM -- Nichols Library
This class will start with a lecture on the 20 Italian words needed to translate Italian records. It then will teach about how to examine birth, marriage and death records and how to translate them. Attendees also will learn about the migration patterns from southern Italy as well as the country's history when the great migration began. Presenter Linda Davenport, whose expertise is southern Italian genealogy, has been volunteering at Naperville Family History Center for 15 years.

C2 Education Practice Tests (SAT)(95th)

Take a practice test administered by C2 Education, and strengthen core skills in reading, writing and math. This program is presented in partnership with C2 Education. Program requires advanced registration.

Movie - "The Finest Hours"
Movie lovers can visit the library each month for a screening of a newly released DVD. Skip the long lines at the theater as well as the long hold lists at the library and see a movie with other like-minded film buffs. Check the library's website, naperville-lib.org, for upcoming titles. No one younger than age 18 will be admitted to an R-rated movie without a parent or guardian.
