Puppet Palooza(NIC)

Come to a puppet event of extraordinary proportions! Three short fun-filled puppet plays will be presented. Children will be invited to sing and dance during intermissions. Each child will have an opportunity to make a puppet craft.

Stitching in the Stacks (95th)

This season's pay-it-forward community project is knit, crocheted or fleece-tied mats for shelter dogs and cats. Mats will go to Naperville Area Humane Society and ADOPT Pet Shelter and may accompany pets to their adoptive homes.

Participants should bring their choice of machine washable supplies, and the library will supply patterns. Participants may also bring their own projects to work on with fellow crafters. All skill levels may attend and experienced crafters are welcome to share their expertise and work with staff to help beginners.

3-D Software & Printing For Kids (95th)

Learn how to design a three-dimensional object using Tinkercad as well as the process of printing it using the library's 3-D printer. For 3rd to 5th grades. Program requires advanced registration with a fee and is limited to 12 participants.

95th Street Library, Idea Lab Tuesday, May 3, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The computer and technology classes have a non-refundable, non-transferable attendance fee for each class that must be paid at the time of registration. Classes are appropriate for adults and students in 8th grade or older and are limited to 12 participants. Registrations for these classes are taken at the computer lab desks.

The fee for these classes is:

Naperville Public Library card holders: $10

Non-Naperville Public Library card holders: $20

Participants can transfer to another class with one week's advance notice. If individuals cannot attend a class for any reason, they should inform the computer lab staff so the spot may be available to an individual on the waiting list.


Mother's Day Gift Workshop (NIC)

Design a card and make a gift that mom will be sure to love on her special day. For children in kindergarten through 3rd grade and limited to 40 participants.

Genealogy Drop-in Help (NIC)

A volunteer from the Fox Valley Genealogical Society will be available in the adult services department to help any interested individuals who wish to obtain assistance either to get started on a genealogy project or to complete difficult genealogical research challenges.

Do-It-Yourself Spa Products (NIC)

Make body products like sugar scrub and milk bath with supplies straight from the kitchen cupboard. Spa day enthusiasts can learn about the properties of essential oils that personalize spa creations. Participants should bring a four-ounce jar to contain their homemade spa product, which would make a great Mother's Day gift.

English conversation groups for ESL students (NBL)

These groups are designed to give English-as-a-second-language students a change to practice their skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment. All adult learners can attend the free groups, and one does not have to attend every session. No registration is required.

Music and Movement(NIC)

Children ages 3 to 5 years old and their parent or caregiver will explore basic musical concepts using interactive methods. This program introduces children to music through movement and singing as well as rhythmic and listening activities. Music will be brought to life through the use of books, props, songs and basic musical instruments in an active and engaging way. Program is limited to 30 children who should be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
