The library?'s Children?'s Services staff will present this popular Riverwalk program, which will include stories, songs and a puppet show. Participants can bring a meal or snack. In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place in the Community Room of Nichols Library.

ENGLISH CONVERSATION GROUPS FOR ESL STUDENTS

Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM -- Naper Boulevard Library
These groups are designed to give English-as-a-Second-Language students a chance to practice their skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment. There is no fee for attending these classes, and one does not have to attend every session. Patrons are invited to attend whenever they can. All adult learners are welcome.

ATTENTION! Students entering 1st through 5th grades, do you want to spend time reading aloud with an older student? This non-tutoring program is intended to provide children with an opportunity to spend time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Come to the library at one of the times listed below. Children will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and will spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, a child may be placed in a group.

Zombie Bash (NIC)

Celebrate the walking dead and prepare for the Zombiepocalypse during the library?'s Zombie Bash. Teens can test their survival skills in a variety of zombie challenges, create undead crafts and eat their brains out. Attendees can don zombie costumes for a chance to win a prize.

DuPage Children's Museum Programs Come Play With Us At The Library! (NSL)

DuPage Children?'s Museum is taking exhibits on the road and visiting the library. The museum?'s early learning specialist and community access coordinator will provide play facilitation techniques utilizing portable versions of full-sized exhibits. In addition, library staff will demonstrate the power of play through storytime. This program is presented in partnership with DuPage Children?'s Museum.
