Quidditch Tournament

Monday, August 01, 2016 at 2:00 PM -- Nichols Library
For Teens in 6th through 12th grades. Witches, wizards and muggles alike are invited to grab a broom and play a few magical rounds of Quidditch! The tournament will take place at Wil-O-Way Park (with the baseball and soccer fields) located at 1408 W. Jefferson Ave. Teen participants should bring their own broom! Signed permission slips are required and will be available at the library. This event is limited to 28 teen participants. *Program requires advanced registration and a signed permission slip. Reader's Night Out

Family Storytime (NBL)

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and other activities is for children of all ages. In addition, staff members will present strategies to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children to these fun-filled programs.

Stitching In The Stacks: Chemo Caps (95th)

Tuesday, August 02, 2016 at 3:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Stitch with the library's community knit, crochet and needlecraft group. The summer season's Pay It Forward community project will be knitting or crocheting chemo caps to donate to Edward Cancer Center. Participants should bring their own materials and tools and either make chemo caps or bring their own personal projects to work on in the group. All skill levels may attend. Experienced crafters are welcome to share their expertise and work with staff to help beginners.

Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Westerns (95th)

Spaghetti westerns are also known as macaroni westerns because many of them were made in Italy on a low budget. Clint Eastwood began his career in the genre and in turn became its icon. This summer series of six movies features Eastwood's best films in the genre.

Genealogy: Drop-In Help (NIC)

A volunteer from the Fox Valley Genealogical Society will be available in the adult services department to help any interested individuals who wish to obtain assistance either to get started on a genealogy project or to complete difficult genealogical research challenges.
