Fantasy football league draft night

Get ready for some football! Join the library's teen Fantasy Football League. A live online draft that may last one and a half hours will take place Tuesday, Sept. 2. Participants can make their draft picks from their home computer. The league is private so only teens from Naperville Public Library will be able to participate. To participate, teens can send an email to acolman@naperville-lib.org at 95th Street Library, with the participant's first and last name, and email address by Friday, Aug. 29th at 5:00 p.m. The winner of the league will receive a 3-D printed trophy, a gift card and bragging rights until next year.

Scientists speak! Particle Accelerators (NIC)

Christopher Peters of Argonne National Laboratory will discuss how computers at the laboratory are used to control particle accelerators, which are devices that use electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to high speeds.

Make It! Take It! (NIC)

Join us for a fun program of stories and crafts for you and your preschooler. Activities will be geared toward children 3 - 4-years, but 5-year-olds are welcome to attend. Younger siblings may accompany the older child - there will be coloring sheets for them. At least one adult caregiver must attend with their children. Limit of 20 children doing crafts.

An introduction to storytime for children from birth - 23 months. This 20-minute interactive program includes stories, songs and fingerplays. You will have time after the program to share board books and other featured titles with your little one. An adult caregiver must attend with each child. The only exception is in the case of twins.
