Make It! Take It! (NBL)

Join us for a fun program of stories and crafts for you and your preschooler. Activities will be geared toward children 3 - 4-years, but 5-year-olds are welcome to attend. Younger siblings may accompany the older child - there will be coloring sheets for them. At least one adult caregiver must attend with their children. Limit of 20 children doing crafts.

Witches, pumpkins and puppets ?... oh my! Children of all ages and their caregivers can dress in costume and enjoy fun Halloween stories, songs and a puppet show at the Riverwalk Amphitheater. In the event of severe weather, the program will take place in the Community Room of Nichols Library.

Frightful nights writing contest

With spooky days and frightful nights just around the corner, teens can enter the library?'s Halloween-themed writing contest. To participate, individuals can write a short story (no more than 300 words) beginning with the sentence, "It was a dark and stormy night ?..." Writers can be funny or downright spooky ?- just as long as the story is creative and original. Participants can email entries to TeenSpaceNPL@gmail.com from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31.
