English conversation groups for ESL students (NBL)Wednesday, August 05, 2015 at 10:00 AM -- Naper Boulevard Library
These groups are designed to give English-as-a-second-language students a change to practice their skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment. All adult learners can attend the free groups, and one does not have to attend every session. No registration is required.
Picnic on The Riverwalk (NIC)Wednesday, August 05, 2015 at 11:30 AM -- Nichols Library
Staff will present this popular Riverwalk program, which will include stories, songs and a puppet show. Participants can bring a meal or snack. In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place in the Community Room of Nichols Library. (The Wednesday lunchtime program will be a repeat of the Tuesday evening program.)

This ultimate superhero crafter-noon will allow creative teens to make various superhero-inspired pieces using Perler beads, Mod Podge and other materials.
Racing with robotics (95th)Wednesday, August 05, 2015 at 1:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
Children can utilize their critical thinking skills to build robots out of LEGOs and program them using WeDo software to move, react and make sounds. Children also will create cars that actually zip through an interactive, robotic finish line. This robotics class will enhance communication, collaborative and problem-solving skills.

Lovers of young adult literature can sign up for the library's online Goodreads book club. Each month, a new book will be selected, and readers can discuss it online through the participants' Goodreads account. Request to join the group "Yay for YA!: An Online Book Club" online at www.goodreads.com, or email teen librarian Alison Colman at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sign up early to take a poll on what book selection the club should read first. The first book will be posted on June 1, and participants will have the entire month to read it and discuss.
