Blankets And Toys For Homeless Cats And Dogs (NIC)

Help a furry friend in need! We'll be making fleece blankets for cats and toys out of t-shirts for dogs. Fleece will be provided, but please bring 2 old t-shirts! All items will be donated to a local humane society. Community service hours will be awarded.

Fourth Annual Teen Poetry Contest (NPL)

In celebration of National Poetry Month, we are sponsoring our 4th Annual Teen Poetry Contest! There will be three divisions: 6th grade, 7th & 8th grades, and high school. The contest begins on April 1 and the deadline for entries is 9:00 p.m. on April 30. Winners will be announced on May 14 and the winning poems will be posted online. Prizes to area bookstores will be awarded. Pick up an entry form at any Naperville Public Library location or enter online at www.naperville-lib.org/teens/teenpoetrycontest2014. English Conversation Groups for ESL Students (NBL)

These groups are designed to give English-as-a-Second-Language students a chance to practice their skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment. There is no fee for attending these classes, and one does not have to attend every session. Patrons are invited to attend whenever they can. All adult learners are welcome. Rocking On The Road To Reading (95th)

We have created some fun Early Literacy and STEM activities for you and your child to do together during this hands-on workshop. We may fish for alphabet letters, retell a story with puppets or count farm animals. This drop-in program is intended for parents and caregivers accompanied by children birth to age 5. Children attending the program must be supervised by an adult.

Monthly Teen Book Giveaway (95th)

If you love to read and want to share your thoughts on the books you're reading, stop by the Upper Level Adult Services Desk on the last Wednesday of the month (with one exception) for our Teen Book Giveaway. We will have shiny new books for you to take home and keep. All we ask in return is that you write a review (the good, the bad and the ugly) for each book you take. It's that simple!

This session will give recent college graduates the tools they need to transition from college to a career. Learn how to plan for the job search by writing a resume based on results, transferring classes, projects and activities to job skills, exploring the hidden job market through networking, and gathering tips on how to win the "interview game." At the end of the session the participants will be empowered and have an understanding of what they need to do to execute a successful job search.
