Family Storytime (NIC)

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more fun activities is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany their children.

Maker Mondays (NIC)

Monday, December 05, 2016 at 3:00 PM -- Nichols Library
Visit the library's Makerspace each week to tinker, create and build hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) activities. The library will provide the materials - kids provide the imagination! For children in 1st through 5th grades with a caregiver.

Monthly Teen Book Giveaway (95th)

Monday, December 05, 2016 at 3:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Bookworms can read and share their thoughts on the books they are reading by stopping by the lower level teen services desk for the Teen Book Giveaway. Teens can take home (and keep!) one shiny new book or Advanced Reader's Copy (ARC) each month. All that is asked in return is that participants write a review (the good and the bad) for the book taken and bring the review back to the library within the next month. Reviews will be posted on the teen section of the library's website.

Golden Snitch Ornaments (NIC)

Infuse a little Harry Potter into the holidays with a golden snitch ornament. Teens can create their own snitch that makes for a magical decoration any time of the year. *Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 15 teens in 6th through 12th grades.

Interactive Sensory Evening (95th)

Monday, December 05, 2016 at 7:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Families will participate in activity stations, reading and crafts with their children who will enjoy sensory experiences. This drop-in program is for children 3 years old and older and has a room limit of 30 participants.

Get Crafty for Adults: Ornaments (95th)

Enhance holiday decorations by making a beautiful and easy-to-make, ornament. To get a sneak peek of the ornament to be made in this workshop, stop by the adult services desk 95th Street Library starting on Nov. 9. All supplies will be provided. *Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 15 participants.
