Poetry Treasure Hunt

Monday, April 27, 2015 at 9:00 AM -- 95th Street Library
Throughout April, celebrate National Poetry Month with a Poetry Treasure Hunt at the library. Children of all ages can search for hidden poems throughout the library anytime during the month of April. Pick up a form at the children's reference desk containing 10 clues, and then it's off to look high and low throughout the children's department for the 10 corresponding poems. Each library will have its own treasure hunt.

Rocking on the road to reading (NSL)

Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM -- 95th Street Library
Children and their adult caregivers can explore fun early literacy activities as well as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities that they can do together during this hands-on workshop. Stations that include reading a rhyming book, retelling a story with puppets and discovering what objects sink or float will help prepare a child for reading. This drop-in program is for parents and caregivers accompanied by children from infants to age 5. Children attending the program must be supervised by an adult.
