Baby Play Date (NBL)

Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 9:30 AM -- Naper Boulevard Library
Parents can stroll into the library with their baby for a fun play date. This program will include 20 minutes of stories, songs and bounces and 10 minutes of exploratory play. The program is the perfect opportunity for children to share some interactive time with their caregivers and meet new friends. The program is for infants to 23-month-olds and their caregivers.

Family Storytime (NBL)

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities right in your home! At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children to these fun filled programs.

Tuesday program: 'The Loyal Bond Between a Soldier & His Service Dog' :
Retired U.S. Army Capt. Luis Carlos Montalv??n, who is a New York Times best-selling author, will share his new book, "Tuesday Tucks Me In: The Loyal Bond Between a Soldier and His Service Dog." Montalv??n, who will bring his best friend and service dog, Tuesday, will talk about a typical day of adventures, starting with Tuesday waking him up in the morning and greeting him with dog breath and then ending with Tuesday cuddling up to him on the bed. Montalv??n?'s story is a sweet blend of education and unconditional love. This program is partially funded by a grant from the City of Naperville.

Retro Crafts for Kids (NIC)

Children can enjoy a blast from the past with some groovy cool crafts from the ?'70s and ?'80s. Kids can create a different retro craft at each session and perhaps restart the trend all over again. For children in 3rd through 5th grades. Room limit of 20 participants.

Costume Party Fun! (NBL)

Kids love dressing up all year long, so why should they only wear costumes during Halloween? Whether participants dress up as their favorite animal, superhero, doctor, royalty or whatever costume they want, they can visit the library in costume, share stories about the joys of dressing up, dance and make a craft.

ATTENTION! Students entering 1st through 5th grades, do you want to spend time reading aloud with an older student? This non-tutoring program is intended to provide children with an opportunity to spend time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Come to the library at one of the times listed below. Children will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and will spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, a child may be placed in a group.
