Book & Cookie Club(NIC)

Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 7:00 PM -- Nichols Library

Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures - Rescuing a squirrel after an accident involving a vacuum cleaner, comic-reading cynic Flora Belle Buckman is astonished when the squirrel, Ulysses, demonstrates astonishing powers of strength and flight after being revived.

Come to the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult, will read a book together, then come to the library to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, www.naperville-lib.org. The library will have multiple copies of each title for checkout.

Preschoolers and their caregivers can enjoy this fun program of stories and crafts. The activities will be geared toward 3- and 4-year-olds, but 5-year-olds are welcome to attend. Younger siblings may accompany the older child as coloring sheets will be available for them. At least one adult caregiver must attend with the child. The program is limited to 20 children creating crafts.

DuPage Children's Museum is taking exhibits on the road. The museum's early learning specialist and community access coordinator will provide play facilitation techniques utilizing portable versions of the museum's full-sized education exhibits. In addition, library staff will demonstrate the power of play through storytimes during the program.
