Sensory Storytime (NIC)

The whole family is invited to a 30-minute program of books, songs and fun for children with special needs. All abilities are welcome with an adult caregiver. Inquire at any children's service desk for more information. The program will be take place the first Saturday of each month. For children 3 years old and older.

Music and Movement (NBL)

Children ages 3 to 5 years old and their parent or caregiver will explore basic musical concepts using interactive methods. This program introduces children to music through movement and singing as well as rhythmic and listening activities. Music will be brought to life through the use of books, props, songs and basic musical instruments in an active and engaging way. Program is limited to 30 children who should be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Book & Cookie Club (NBL)

Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 7:00 PM -- Naper Blvd. Library
Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club's meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout.
For children in 3rd through 5th grades. Program is limited to 15 child/parent pairs. Sign and Play with Baby - Bathtime(95th)

Learn to communicate with babies using sign language. This three-week program will provide a fun environment for babies and their caregivers to learn the basics of sign language. Each week, a new theme will be introduced using stimulating activities, books, songs and play. For children ages 8 to 23 months old. Program requires advance registration for each date and is limited to 12 babies per program.

Dupage Children's Museum Programs:Come play with us at the Library(NIC)

DuPage Children's Museum is taking exhibits on the road! The museum's early learning specialist and community access coordinator will provide play facilitation techniques utilizing portable versions of full-sized exhibits. In addition, library staff will demonstrate the power of play through storytimes during this drop-in program, which is limited to 30 attendees. This program is presented in partnership with DuPage Children's Museum.
