Exam Proctoring
Long-distance or online learning programs and some professions provide the opportunities for independent study on the condition that exams be proctored and certified. In support of life-long learning, the Library will provide this service for administering examinations.
Anyone may apply for examination proctoring. Exams are proctored by Adult Services staff during regular Library hours Monday through Saturday at all three Naperville Public Library facilities, subject to staff availability. It is the patron's responsibility to contact their agencies or institutions to provide the exam materials to the proctor. Proctoring must be scheduled one week in advance and administered by appointment. Proctors will not remain with the students in the same room but will intermittently monitor them.
Fees:
To recover the cost of coordination, supervision, any necessary photocopying, and recordkeeping, fees will be assessed according to the schedule below. The exam will not be administered until the fee is paid by the person taking the exam, unless the fee is paid by the person taking the exam.
- Naperville Residents and Fee Cardholders with valid cards (valid Library cards may not be expired or have more than $20.00 in fines/fees on account): $30.00 per exam session up to four consecutive hours.
- All others, including Reciprocal Borrowers: $60.00 per exam session up to four consecutive hours.
