Families –Meet a Chicago Wolves Hockey Player, Read Together This Winter!

Alex Friesen, a center with the Chicago Wolves Hockey Team, will talk about reading and hockey on Monday, Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave. During the program, one lucky child will have the opportunity to try on the official hockey gear, including pads. Photos of Friesen will be available and everyone can get Alex’s autograph.

This exciting visit by a player who was named Top penalty-killer and top faceoff man is part of the Library’s Winter Family Read Aloud Program. During the program that runs through Jan. 31 families are urged to make reading part of their family activities. And reading the sports pages together and discussing goals is just one of the ways families can work on completing their reading logs. Register for this winter program, record their family’s read aloud sessions and return the logs to win prizes. Don’t live in Naperville? Join the fun for $5.00 per child.

The Library’s Winter Family Read Aloud Program is sponsored by the Chicago Wolves, Classic Cinemas Ogden 6, Colonial Café, Jump Zone, Texas Roadhouse, and Jet’s Pizza.
