Teen Events for the Month of June

Exam Cram (NIC)

We understand that it is important to have a good place to study for finals, so we have reserved space in the library just for you! We will have lots of tables for group study, free Wi-Fi and reference help. Need a break during the cram session? We'll have board games to give your brain a break. Energizing snacks will be provided.
For teens in grades 9 - 12.

The Craaaaaave: Teen Dance (NIC)

Friday, June 06, 2014 at 8:00 PM -- Nichols Library
The library will celebrate the beginning of summer and the season?'s reading program with a kick-off dance at the Riverwalk. A disc jockey, provided by Sounds Abound, will take requests for dancers?' favorite songs and group dances. The theme of this year?'s summer reading program is Reading is Undead: Read Your Brains Out! Teens can get temporary tattoos to transform them into hungry zombies who crave reading and love to dance. Zombie costumes are encouraged.

ATTENTION! Students entering 1st through 5th grades, do you want to spend time reading aloud with an older student? This non-tutoring program is intended to provide children with an opportunity to spend time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Come to the library at one of the times listed below. Children will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and will spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, a child may be placed in a group.

Wii?(TM) Gaming Tournaments: ?"Just Dance 4?(TM)?" (NIC)

Teens can show off their mad gaming skills at the library?'s Wii?(TM) Tournaments. They can compete to win bragging rights and a Target gift card. For those who wish not to participate in the tournament, but love Nintendo can bring your Nintendo DS to play for fun with other gamers.
