Teen Events for the Month of September

Practice using great features that will make it easier to calculate formulas, analyze trends and apply formatting in spreadsheets. *Program requires advanced registration with a fee and is limited to 12 participants. 
This class has a non-refundable attendance fee for each class that must be paid at the time of registration. Classes are appropriate for adults and students in 8th grade or older and are limited to 12 participants. Registrations for these classes are taken at the computer lab desks. 
The fee for these classes is: 
Naperville Public Library card holders: $10
Non-Naperville Public Library card holders: $20
Participants can transfer to another class with one week's advance notice. If individuals cannot attend a class for any reason, they should inform the computer lab staff so the spot may be available to an individual on the waiting list.

Free Movie @ the Library (95th)

No more waiting in long lines at the theater or on long hold lists at the library to see a new movie. Join fellow movie lovers each month for a screening of a new movie release. Check the library's website for upcoming titles. No one younger age 18 will be admitted to an R-rated movie without a parent or guardian.

Teen Ignite: Bringing Them to Life Comic Book Creation (95th)

Join Yorli Huff, comic book creator, for a workshop on creating comic book characters or superheroes and guiding them through the phases of comic book creation. Character development, which includes identifying what characters will look like, powers they will have and weapons they might need will be discussed. Story lines will be developed and then sketching and drawing out characters will follow. *Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 30 teen participants.

DIY Homemade Bath Bombs (NBL)

Let's JAM! Learn how to create amazing artistic projects on an iPad or iPhone. Participants will learn how to draw on the iPad, take and edit the best photos and videos, make the perfect soundtrack, and share them. Teen Ignite: Nanotechnology (95th)

Nanotechnology is science, engineering and technology conducted at the nanoscale including extremely small things such as the diameter of a human hair, which is 100,000 nanometer. This presentation will cover wonders and day-to-day uses of nanotechnology. Surprisingly, Nanotechnology is ubiquitous and is used in everyday life. Gayatri Mistri of NanoBeasts Robotics Academy will introduce the basics of nanotechnology as well as use experimental demonstrations to excite young minds and broaden participants' view of STEM.
