This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more fun activities is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany their children.

3-D printing & Cookie Creations (NIC)

Monday, January 04, 2016 at 11:00 AM -- Nichols Library
Children will use Cookie Caster software to create a custom 3-D printable cookie cutter design and will also decorate cookies.
For children in 3rd through 5th grades. Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 15 children. Children may sign up for only one of the six programs offered.

CS First Club - Coding Series (NBL)

Tuesday, January 05, 2016 at 4:00 PM -- Naper Boulevard Library
CS First is an entry-level computer science program created by Google. It aims to empower children to create with technology and tell their own stories through hands-on computer programming activities. Children in 4th through 6th grades can learn and improve problem-solving and logic proficiencies. This program is directed by Xueqing (Clare) Tang, computer science professor at Governors State University. Program requires advanced registration for the entire series and is limited to 16 participants.

Tuesday, Jan. 5 and 19, 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Saturday, Jan.9 and 16, 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Participants are required to register for all 4 sessions.Signing up for this event automatically registers you for all 4 sessions.

Winter Family Reading Program - Reading is So Sweet

Families with children in 5th grade and younger can sign up starting Tuesday, Dec.1. Children will earn prizes and coupons for reading together as a family and doing other family-fun activities. All participants will be entered into drawings to win Chicago Wolves Hockey tickets and a grand prize.
