CS First Club - Coding Series (NBL)

Tuesday, January 05, 2016 at 4:00 PM -- Naper Boulevard Library
CS First is an entry-level computer science program created by Google. It aims to empower children to create with technology and tell their own stories through hands-on computer programming activities. Children in 4th through 6th grades can learn and improve problem-solving and logic proficiencies. This program is directed by Xueqing (Clare) Tang, computer science professor at Governors State University. Program requires advanced registration for the entire series and is limited to 16 participants.

Tuesday, Jan. 5 and 19, 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Saturday, Jan.9 and 16, 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Participants are required to register for all 4 sessions.Signing up for this event automatically registers you for all 4 sessions.

3-D printing & Cookie Creations (NBL)

Thursday, January 07, 2016 at 3:30 PM -- Naper Boulevard Library
Children will use Cookie Caster software to create a custom 3-D printable cookie cutter design and will also decorate cookies.
For children in 3rd through 5th grades. Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 15 children. Children may sign up for only one of the six programs offered.

Sign and play with baby - Bedtime (NBL)

Friday, January 08, 2016 at 9:30 AM -- Naper Boulevard Library
Learn to communicate with babies using sign language. This three-week-long program provides a fun environment for babies and their caregivers to learn the basics of sign language. Each week, a new theme will be introduced using stimulating activities, books, songs and play. For children ages 8 ?- 23 months. *Program requires advanced registration for each date and is limited to 12 babies per program.
