Kids Events for the Month of June

Picnic On The Riverwalk

Staff will present this popular Riverwalk program, which will include stories, songs and a puppet show. Participants can bring a meal or snack. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be canceled. (The Wednesday lunchtime program will be a repeat of the Tuesday evening program.) These programs are presented in partnership with Naperville Park District.

Read2gether (95th)

Wednesday, June 08, 2016 at 1:30 PM -- 95th Street Library

Students entering kindergarten through 5th grade can practice reading, listening to and discussing books in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with a teen volunteer this summer. Depending on attendance, readers may be placed in a group. Children may bring a book or choose one from the library. All participants must be independent readers. Those arriving more than 10 minutes late cannot be guaranteed placement with a partner.


Family Storytime (NBL)

Thursday, June 09, 2016 at 10:30 AM -- Naper Blvd. Library

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and other activities is for children of all ages. In addition, staff members will present strategies to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children to these fun-filled programs.

Yoga for Kids (95th)

Thursday, June 09, 2016 at 3:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Get ready to move, bend and stretch while reading fun yoga stories and acting out favorite animal poses. This interactive program will feature stories, songs and simple poses to introduce kids to the world of yoga. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and bring their own mat or towel. Program is limited to 15 children ages 3 - 7 years old.

Book & Cookie Club (NIC)

Thursday, June 09, 2016 at 7:00 PM -- Nichols Library
Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club's meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, www.naperville-lib.org. The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout. For children in 3rd through 5th grades. Program is limited to 15 child/parent pairs.

The Power Of Play (NBL)

Adult and child interactive play is critical to language development. Caregivers are invited to the library to play with their child at stations of fun and games, including manipulates, board games and puzzles, as well as items for imaginative play and gross motor activity. For infants through 5th grade with a caregiver. This is a drop-in program with a room limit of 30.
