Thursday, January 01, 2015 at All Day -- All Libraries
All three locations of the library will be closed. Book drop-off will be open 24/7 at all buildings. Materials can be renewed online.

Winter Family Reading Program

Friday, January 02, 2015 at 9:00 AM -- All Libraries
Families with children in 5th grade and even babies can sign up starting Monday, Dec. 1. Children will earn prizes and coupons for reading together as a family and doing other family-fun activities. All participants will be entered into drawings to win Chicago Wolves Hockey tickets and a grand prize.

Family Storytime (NIC)

Friday, January 02, 2015 at 10:30 AM -- Nichols Library
This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more fun activities is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies also will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children.

Stuffed animal sleepover (NIC)

Friday, January 02, 2015 at 4:00 PM -- Nichols Library
Kids can bring in their favorite stuffed animal for a sleepover at the library. Create a special nametag and say goodnight while leaving the stuffed animal in the care of the children?'s staff overnight. During the next morning after the sleepover, kids can reunite with their stuffed friend, find out what happened during the sleepover and enjoy a special storytime. Animal owners will be surprised to see pictures of the fun they had overnight at the library.

Sensory storytime (NIC)

Saturday, January 03, 2015 at 2:00 PM -- Nichols Library
The whole family is invited to a 30-minute program of books, songs and fun for children with special needs. All abilities are welcome with an adult caregiver. Inquire at any children's services desk for more information. The program will take place on the first Saturday of each month.
