Loan Periods, Fees and Fine
Where can I return items?
Return items to any Library location or book drop. Book drops at all three buildings are available 24 hours a day, including holidays.
*eReaders and Tablets must be returned to a Circulation staff member or a $5 fee will be charged. All accessories must be returned with the eReader or a replacement charge will be assessed per missing item.
What if I do not return an item on time?
Refer to the chart (shown below) for a list of loan periods and overdue fines. Maximum fine per overdue item is $10 or replacement cost of item, whichever is less. You will not be able to check out items if you have $10 or more in charges. Items that are over 28 days overdue are declared lost and will be billed.

The maximum fine for overdue items is $20.00 or the cost of the item as established by the library, whichever is less. An account balance of $50.00 or more in overdue charges ONLY OR $25.00 or more in charges that include lost or damaged materials shall be referred to a collection agency. Patrons will be charged a fee of $10.00 for each referral. Avoid Fees and Fines by signing up for email notification. You may login to My Account and click on Modify Personal Info to add your email address or call the circulation desk.
Overdue notification is a courtesy. The library is not responsible if notification is not received.
How can I pay my fines or fees?
There are two ways to pay fines and fees:
- In person – Pay by cash, check or credit card at any of our buildings during regular operating hours.
- Online – Use your credit card to pay online. You will have to log into My Account first.
About your credit card payment:
- No service charge
- Minimum payment of $1
- Payments immediately applied to your Library account
