Family Storytime (NBL)

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more fun activities is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies also will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children.

Students entering 1st through 5th grades can spend time reading aloud with an older student. This non-tutoring program is intended to provide students an opportunity to spend enjoyable time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Students will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, participants may be placed in a group.

English conversation groups for ESL students (NBL)

These groups are designed to give English-as-a-second-language students a change to practice their skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment. All adult learners can attend the free groups, and one does not have to attend every session. No registration is required.

Teen movie: 'Dick Tracy'(PG) (NBL)

Not all heroes wear a cape ?- sometimes they wear a yellow trench coat, fedora, radio wristwatch, and their statue can be found guarding over the Naperville Riverwalk. Teens can visit the library for a screening of the 1990 film that's full of colorful mobsters, molls and of course, the famous gumshoe hero.

The power of play (NBL)

Adult and child interactive play is critical to language development. Families can have fun and play with their children at stations that include manipulatives, board games and puzzles as well as items for imaginative play and gross motor activity.
