Naperville Public Library

Naperville Public Library – 5 Stars, 5 Times!

For the fifth time in five years, the Naperville Public Library has been ranked nationally as a 5 Star Library. Naperville is one of only 85 libraries out of 7,570 surveyed to receive this honor and one of only six in Illinois to achieve 5 Star status. In addition to being named a 5 Star Library, within the library’s peer group – libraries with expenditures between $10,000,000 and $29,999,999 – Naperville ranked #1! The new Star designations are published in the fifth edition of the “Library Journal” Index of Public Library Service (LJI), a measurement tool that compares U.S. public libraries on the quantities of services they deliver. The index uses the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) data for 2010 and is sponsored by Baker & Taylor’s Bibliostat Collect and Connect.

Executive Library Director John Spears is ecstatic! “As we have received Five Stars in every rating that Library Journal has done, this is an incredible achievement. This is not something that could have been accomplished without the support of our community.”

Other 5 Star Illinois libraries include Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Monticello Township Library, Northbrook Public Library, Oak Park Public Library and Schaumburg Township District Library.
