Riverwalk Storytimes

Staff will present this popular Riverwalk program, which will include stories, songs and a puppet show. Participants can bring a meal or snack. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be canceled. (The Wednesday lunchtime program will be a repeat of the Tuesday evening program.) These programs are presented in partnership with Naperville Park District.

SCORE Business Roundtable at NaperLaunch

Harry Potter Book Release Party

Muggles of all ages can celebrate the midnight book release of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I & II" at Nichols Library. In conjunction with other Potter-themed celebrations throughout downtown Naperville, Nichols Library will be open from 9 a.m. Saturday, July 30 through 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 31 in anticipation of the book's release at midnight so fans can pick up their copy. The library will host many magical events throughout the day and night (see schedule of events below). From 6 p.m. to midnight, attendees can win raffle prizes every hour - must be present to win.

Hidden 'Harry Potter'

Get ready for the release of the new Harry Potter book with this thrilling insider's peek at one of the most treasured film series of all time. Behind-the-scenes tidbits, hilarious inside jokes and other fascinating facts will delight Potter fans as pivotal scenes are explored from all six films. This presentation will uncover themes of kindness and heroism with inspiring messages for Muggles of all ages. This program is for ages 10 and older.

Quidditch Tournament

Monday, August 01, 2016 at 2:00 PM -- Nichols Library
For Teens in 6th through 12th grades. Witches, wizards and muggles alike are invited to grab a broom and play a few magical rounds of Quidditch! The tournament will take place at Wil-O-Way Park (with the baseball and soccer fields) located at 1408 W. Jefferson Ave. Teen participants should bring their own broom! Signed permission slips are required and will be available at the library. This event is limited to 28 teen participants. *Program requires advanced registration and a signed permission slip. Genealogy: Drop-In Help (NIC)

A volunteer from the Fox Valley Genealogical Society will be available in the adult services department to help any interested individuals who wish to obtain assistance either to get started on a genealogy project or to complete difficult genealogical research challenges.
