Superhero training academy (NIC)

This training academy will test a brave teen's super powers in a series of physical and mental challenges. The winning superhero will receive a gift card to a local comic book store. Participants should meet in the Community Room before heading outside to the challenge arena.

Family Storytime (NIC)

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more fun activities is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies also will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children.

Students entering 1st through 5th grades can spend time reading aloud with an older student. This non-tutoring program is intended to provide students an opportunity to spend enjoyable time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Students will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, participants may be placed in a group.

Excel 1 (NIC)

Learn how to auto-fill, format data and adjust cells as well as the different ways to insert and move data cells using Microsoft Excel. Program requires advanced registration with a fee.

Sensory storytime (NIC)

The whole family is invited to a 30-minute program of books, songs and fun for children with special needs. All abilities are welcome with an adult caregiver. Inquire at any children's services desk for more information. The program will take place on the first Saturday of each month.For children 3 years old and older.

Book & Cookie club (NIC)

"Oggie Cooder" by Sarah Weeks

Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club's meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, www.naperville-lib.org. The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout.

Wii gaming tournaments - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (NIC)

Gamers can compete to win bragging rights and a Target gift card in Wii Gaming Tournaments. Participants are also welcome to bring their Nintendo DS to play for fun with other teens.

Genealogy - Dropin Help(NIC)

A volunteer from the Fox Valley Genealogical Society will be available in the adult services department to help any interested individuals who wish to obtain assistance either to get started on a genealogy project or to complete difficult genealogical research challenges.
