Join us for a fun program of stories and crafts for you and your preschooler. Activities will be geared toward children 3 - 4-years, but 5-year-olds are welcome to attend. Younger siblings may accompany the older child - there will be coloring sheets for them. At least one adult caregiver must attend with their children. Limit of 20 children doing crafts.
Family Storytime (NIC)Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at 4:00 PM -- Nichols Library
This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities right in your home! At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children to these fun filled programs.
Lapsit Storytime (NIC)Thursday, September 04, 2014 at 9:30 AM -- Nichols Library
An introduction to storytime for children from birth - 23 months. This 20-minute interactive program includes stories, songs and fingerplays. You will have time after the program to share board books and other featured titles with your little one. An adult caregiver must attend with each child. The only exception is in the case of twins.

A 30-minute independent storytime experience for children from 3 - 5 only. No younger or older siblings allowed.
Tales For 2s & 3s (NIC)Thursday, September 04, 2014 at 10:30 AM -- Nichols Library
A 20-minute interactive program of stories, songs and fingerplays for 2 and 3-year-olds and an accompanying adult. Strategies will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. No

The Art of Starting a Business in Illinois(NIC)Thursday, September 04, 2014 at 1:00 PM -- Nichols Library
The library is please to host this SBDC workshop, which provides fundamental knowledge about opening a business, including: understanding your entrepreneurial DNA, how to pick a name, branding, differences in corporate structures (sole proprietor vs LLC and S-Corp) registering your business, and will explain basic components of a business plan.

Explorers in 3rd through 5th grades can attend this program to create crafts, read books, play with Legos,learn about science and have a rollicking good time. For children in 3rd through 5th grades. Program is limited to 15 children.

Start the school year off right by making a snazzy collage notebook. Use Mod Podge to create a personalized notebook with colorful paper and photos from magazines. Feel free to bring any pictures or magazine clippings to use.
