Friday, July 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM -- Nichols Library
Students entering 1st through 5th grades can spend time reading aloud with an older student. This non-tutoring program is intended to provide students an opportunity to spend enjoyable time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Students will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, participants may be placed in a group.

Heroes and Villains: Teen Dance @ the Riverwalk

Friday, July 10, 2015 at 7:30 PM -- Nichols Library
Celebrate the beginning of summer and the library's superhero-themed reading program with a kick-off dance at the Riverwalk. Teens can dress in superhero or villain costumes, request their favorite songs and maybe even perform a group dance. In case of inclement weather, the dance will take place in the Community Room at Nichols Library. Thanks to Sounds Abound for providing DJs and music.

Tiny crusaders can don their capes and superhero costumes while jamming with musician Mr. Dave, who will present a toe-tapping show featuring classic children?'s songs, mainstream favorites and original tunes. This 50-miniute show is designed to keep kids moving and shaking. Costumes are encouraged! This program will be presented twice, and the second program will be a repeat of the first.

Attendees can bring their devices to learn how to download e-books, e-audiobooks, magazines and music from the collection of more than 20,000 titles in the library?'s collection, which is compatible with Apple (iOS), Android- and Windows-based products, as well as versions of the Nook and Kindle.

Book & Cookie club (NIC)

The Name of this Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch
Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club's meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, www.naperville-lib.org. The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout.
