ACT KAPLAN practice test (NIC)

Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM -- Nichols Library

Getting ready for college - ACT practice test
A practice test is crucial to ward off those test-day jitters. Test takers can find out how they will score on the real thing. Kaplan will provide proctored tests, and individuals should bring No. 2 pencils, an approved calculator and a healthy snack. The exams will begin promptly at the scheduled time, and no one will be admitted once the exam has started.

Anime Club (NBL)

Come to the library each month to watch anime, draw manga, talk about different aspects of Japanese pop culture and meet other otaku.

Teen Book Club (NIC)

Pizza and Books
Teens can discuss books they have recently read, are currently reading or even old-time favorites. Pizza will be provided to fuel the conversation.

Goodreads ?- how it works(NSL)

Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 6:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
Teens and adults can learn about the social cataloging website, Goodreads.com. The class will teach about how to keep track of books read, connect with authors and how to participate in online book clubs. Participants are encouraged to bring a smart phone, tablet or laptop. Some laptops will be available.

Teen Movie Series(NSL)

"If I Stay" (PG-13) - Mia Hall thought the hardest decision she would ever face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam. But what should have been a carefree family drive changes everything in an instant. Caught between life and death for one revealing day, Mia has only one decision left, which will not only decide her future but her ultimate fate.

The library will screen newly released movies that teens may have missed in theaters or movies they just can't get enough of. Snacks and a surprise will be provided each month.

Egg decorating(NIC)

Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 4:30 PM -- Nichols Library
Crafters can hop into spring by decorating a colorful and impressive egg using dye, Sharpie markers and other materials that will be provided. A limited number of hardboiled eggs will be available, but participants are welcome to bring their own too.

AP Calculus Practice Test (NSL)

Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 4:30 PM -- 95th Street Library
Unlike other college admissions tests, such as the ACT or SAT, students only get one chance on the Advanced Placement exams. Students can ensure they are prepared by taking this Advanced Placement Calculus exam. This program is presented in partnership with C2 Education.
