Used Book Sale
The Library maintains an ongoing used book and media sale at all three locations with proceeds benefiting the Library.
The Naperville Public Library accepts gently used donations of print and non-print media. The Library maintains an ongoing used book and media sale at all three locations with proceeds benefiting the Library. Any materials donated to the Library become the property of the Library and may be used for Library purposes or added to the collection according to the Collection Development Policy. Donated items that are not added to the collection may be offered for sale. Materials that are no longer needed by the library are weeded out of the collection and offered for sale. Magazines are sold in the book sale only after the year-end weeding process, usually in December.
Prices and variety of materials available may vary.
All sales are on a first come, first served basis. Requests to hold or "set aside" items for staff or patrons cannot be honored.
Items are sold in "as-is" condition. The library is not responsible for items sold or for any damage that may occur to buyers' equipment. No refunds or returns are granted.
Book sale prices are:
- Hardcover books, CDs, Books-on-CD, and DVDs are $1.00.
- Paperbacks are 50 cents.
- Magazines are 25 cents.
- Selected items and multi-volume sets are priced as determined.
