Using The Catalog
Use the Library catalog to search for books, movies, CDs and other items.
SEARCH THE CATALOG FROM YOUR PC
Searching the catalog is as easy as typing in a word. That's all you have to do with Encore's keyword searching. When your results are displayed on screen just scroll down and you will see electronic articles that relate to your search. You'll also find suggestions for similar books. Of course, if you know the title, author, or subject that you want to search for you can do that too.
SEARCH THE CATALOG FROM YOUR MOBILE DEVICE
Smartphone users can access the library's catalog at http://m.naperville-lib.org. You can perform keyword searches, place holds and view your library account.
Haven't had time to finish that book or watch that movie? Login to your account and renew it! You can renew any material that isn't on hold for someone else up to 3 times. The new due date will be calculated from the day you renew the item, not from the original due date.
Is the item you want checked out to someone else? Want to be sure to get a certain item? Naperville Public Library cardholders may "Request it" (Place a hold) on any circulating item. You will be notified when the item is ready to be picked up. It will be held for you for 7 days.
If you can't find the book or magazine in our catalog, we will be happy to borrow it from a library that does own it. Sorry, but we do not Interlibrary Loan movies, CDs or audiobooks. You must have a Naperville Public LIbrary card to request an item through Interlibrary Loan.
Have you heard about a great book or movie that the library doesn't own but you think we should? Fill out a Material Purchase Suggestion form. If the item is purchased for the library's collection a hold will automatically be placed for you. All suggestions should be for items that are currently published or released.
Ask a Librarian for help using text, e-mail or by phone.
