YAY FOR YA! An Online Goodreads Book Club

"Recurring, ongoing program. Lovers of YA literature can sign up for the library's online Goodreads book club. Each month, a new book will be selected, and readers can discuss it online through the participant's Goodreads account.
Request to join the group "Yay for YA!: An Online Book Club" on Goodreads or email teen librarian Alison Colman at acolman@naperville-lib.org.

New books will be posted at the beginning of each month, and participants will have the entire month to read it and discuss."

Sharpie Tie-Dye T-Shirts (NBL)

Thursday, July 07, 2016 at 1:30 PM -- Naper Blvd. Library
Create unique t-shirt designs using permanent markers, rubbing alcohol and rubber bands. Participants are asked to bring a white cotton T-shirt and wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty. *Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 20 teen participants. For Teens in 6th through 12th grades.

Fifth Annual Ice Cream Taste-Off (95th)

No shushing is allowed as teens will scream for ice cream during this taste-off. They can sample and judge store-brand versus name-brand ice cream while playing ice cream trivia. For Teens in 6th through 12th grades.

Study Skills and Note-Taking Seminar

Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
This seminar will address common pitfalls of students with focus on studying and note-taking effectively and efficiently. Students will be able to identify their own areas of strengths and weaknesses, understand their personal learning style and learn tips and strategies for long-term information retention. Students also will gain skills in creating study plans, choosing study groups and learning to test with confidence. This program is presented in partnership with C2 Education. *Program requires advanced registration. For Teens in 6th through 12th grades.
