Teen Events for the Month of March

Teen movie series (NIC)

Mia Hall thought the hardest decision she would ever face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam. But what should have been a carefree family drive changes everything in an instant. Caught between life and death for one revealing day, Mia has only one decision left, which will not only decide her future but her ultimate fate.

The library will screen newly released movies that teens may have missed in theaters or movies they just can't get enough of. Snacks and a surprise will be provided each month.

LED GREETING CARDS - In honor of Teen Tech Week, teens will make unique greeting cards that will light up and brighten somebody's day.

Spark: Teen Tech Fun(NIC)

Tinker with technology as the library will showcase fun equipment for tech heads to experiment with, including Spheros (robotic balls), Snap Circuits, Lego WeDos, Lego Mindstorms EV3 & NXT 2.0 robots as well as Makey Makey invention kits that allow creative minds to control a video game with Play-Doh or play a piano made of bananas.

College application and essay writing seminar(NSL)

The tutoring service C2 Education will discuss the ins and outs of college applications, including tips on writing an essay. Students will learn the best ways to showcase their academic achievements and activities. The seminar is geared for high school students in 10th through 12th grades and their parents.

ACT Or SAT: What Test Is Better For You? (NIC)

The tutoring service C2 Education will discuss the ACT and SAT and the challenges of each test. Students also will learn vital testing strategies to improve scores. This program is presented in partnership with C2 Education.
