Computer classes for the Month of June
NOTE:There is a non-refundable, non-transferable attendance fee for each class that must be paid at the time of registration.You can transfer to another class with one week's advance notice. If you cannot attend a class for any reason, please let the Computer Lab staff know so that we can offer the spot to someone on the waiting list.
Classes are appropriate for adults and students grade 8 and above. Classes are limited to 12 participants. Stop by the Computer Lab desk at any of our facilities for more information and to register! All computer classes requires advanced registration

Learn how to convert old VHS tapes to DVDs and movie files, and find out how to convert LPs and cassettes to MP3s. Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 6 participants.

Raspberry Pi- Balloon Pi-Tay Popper (95th)Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM -- 95th Street Library
Teen tech lovers can pop a balloon the high-tech way using a Raspberry Pi computer. By creating a balloon popping circuit, teens can learn computer science skills as well as how to wire up a circuit, what transistors are used for and how to heat up a resistor so it will pop a balloon. Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 10 participants.

Small Business Workshop: Search Engine Optimization (NIC)Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 6:30 PM -- Nichols Library
Bruce Jones, chief executive officer at Design & Promote, will offer strategies to turn strangers into customers by achieving leads through search engine optimization. He will cover topics such as keyword search, the most important place to use a keyword and how to use calls to action to keep people on the site.

Using computer design software, individuals can create a unique design or image to be placed on a 1.5-inch button of which they can wear for fun or promote their business. Participants can bring a favorite picture or image to class. Program requires advanced registration and is limited to 12 participants.
