Spring Cleaning Day at Naperville Library

What a way to end National Volunteer Month!

Naperville is known for its generous spirit, and that was proven once again by the reponse to our request for assistance with our first Annual Spring Cleaning Day.  A multitude of amazing volunteers came through for us to help us dust our shelves, improve our landscaping and hang bright new posters.  Every building was a whirlwind of activity, but no matter the task, our volunteers kept smiling.  We smiled, too, at the thought of all of the Library visitors that would enjoy their efforts for months to come.

Our staff gave generously of their time as well, volunteering hours as they worked shoulder to shoulder with the many volunteers.  It was a great day to form new friendships.

Special Thanks to the Naperville Garden Club!

The Naperville Garden Club adds beauty every day at the Nichols Library by placing stunning displays for everyone to enjoy on the Reception Desk.  During our Spring Cleaning Day, the Naperville Garden Club lent its expertise to the design and layout of beds at Nichols, and very generously donated all of the fresh green plants that brighten our landscape.  Our thanks go to President Marilyn Kruger for her hands-on supervision of the planting.  The Naperville Garden Club's philanthropy did not stop at Nichols.  Visit our 95th Street Library and admire the gift of five new  trees, a lasting reminder of their benevolence.

The Early Learning Center has not been so clean in awhile. The play cube especially benefited from
a thorough cleaning.

The volunteers were lovely and they accomplished a lot here in Nichols Children’s.”
