Family Storytime (NBL)

This 30-minute program of stories, songs and more fun activities is for children of all ages. In addition, strategies also will be presented to enhance early learning opportunities at home. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children.

Students entering 1st through 5th grades can spend time reading aloud with an older student. This non-tutoring program is intended to provide students an opportunity to spend enjoyable time reading aloud with a student volunteer. Students will be paired with a volunteer entering 6th through 12th grades and spend the one-hour session taking turns reading aloud. Depending on attendance, participants may be placed in a group.

Stitching in the stacks(NBL)

Stitch with the library's community knit, crochet and needlecraft club. Crafters can share tips and ideas as well as showcase their latest project or ask for help on a project they may be struggling to complete. Along with good company, conversation and refreshments, attendees will learn about charity projects, share ideas and patterns or swap materials. Books on knitting, crocheting and needlecrafts will be available. All skill levels may attend.

Book & Cookie club (NBL)

Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech

Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club's meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library's website, www.naperville-lib.org. The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout.

Superhero Capes (NBL)

A superhero isn't a superhero without a cape. In conjunction with the superhero-themed summer reading program, teens can create a personalized cape with a logo.

Criminal Spines Book Club (NBL)

Join the Criminal Spines Book Club to make bookmarks themed around elements from the novel ?"The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie?" by Alan Bradley. Participants can make the craft while discussing the book.
